Liberal Voice for Women is a group of Liberal Democrats campaigning to ensure that women’s sex-based rights, representation, and voices are fully respected within our party.
Why are we needed?
We believe that women’s interests are no longer being adequately defended in liberal politics, including within the Liberal Democrats. In particular, we are concerned that a narrow understanding of gender identity is increasingly being prioritised over the material realities of women’s lives
Biological sex matters!
We are unashamedly a gender-critical group. We believe biological sex matters, and that women’s rights, protections, and political representation depend on recognising this reality. We also believe that liberalism should be capable of holding open, respectful debate on difficult issues, without silencing women who speak from experience.
