In a world where the myth of the ‘happy hooker’ persists and the pro prostitution lobby is gaining ground Julie Bindel, radical feminist writer and author of The Pimping of Prostitution, sets the liberal orthodoxy against the lived experience of women caught up in the sex trade. A tireless upholder of women’s rights, and co-founder of the law reform group Justice for Women, she argues that prostitution is inherently abusive and has been working for its abolition since the 1970’s. 

Jacci Stoyle is a passionate advocate of the Nordic Model, which is based on criminalising the buyers and decriminalising the prostitutes, and is secretariat of the Cross Party Group on Commercial Sexual Exploitation in Holyrood. She will talk to us about their recent parliamentary inquiry into sexual exploitation advertising websites.
