Like many of us, Helen Joyce wondered where the ideas behind gender-identity ideology came from, how the distinction between 'sex' and 'gender' evolved, and who decided that it is your gender identity not your sex that determines whether you are male or female. How much does it even matter? It was only after meeting some detransitioners that Helen began to think about the serious implications of this ideology.
